What a Move to New Milford Has to Offer

New Milford is the largest town in Connecticut, covering nearly 62 square miles. It's located in southern Litchfield County, on the Aspetuck, Still and Housatonic Rivers, 14 miles north of Danbury. The Lover's Leap Bridge, which is also a wrought-iron lenticular truss bridge over the Housatonic, lies north of Boardman's Bridge in New Milford and is of a similar, ornate design.

Fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg, wife of television mogul Barry Diller, was born in New Milford, has a 100-acre farm in the town. Designer Bill Blass is also from New Milford. Other famous people from New Milford include sportscaster Bob Costas, comedian Joan Rivers, singer Eartha Kitt, actor Peter Gallagher and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. The films "Mr. Deeds" and "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee" were shot there.
